Mark 7 shows us that a Gentile woman( a person that is not Jewish) comes to Jesus who’s little girl was possessed by an evil spirit. She fell at Jesus feet and begged him to save here little girl!
Jesus told her since she was a Gentile “First I should help my own family the jews. It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs.”
She replied, “that is true, Lord, but even the dogs under the table are given some crumbs from the children’s plates”.
“Good answer!” He said. “And because you have answered so well, I have healed your daughter.” And when she arrived home, her little girl was laying quietly in bed, and the demon was gone.
By helping this Gentile woman, Jesus made it clear that his message of Hope was for everyone, not just a privileged few. Jesus responded not only to the woman’s humility and accurate self perception but also to her great faith and perseverance.
The More We trust in god, the more he can do for us and through us. A lack of faith and perseverance will keep us from experiencing God’s healing in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones.
