One of my biggest struggles I have delt with as of late has been to appreciate the things that God has given me. I am always looking for the next big thing.
I normally dont take the time to appreciate what I am so blessed to have. It is so easy these days to see on tv or social media all that others have that we dont and we may think, man I need that, or thats the way my life needs to be. For me I know now but it is still hard that I need to stop and look at what God has put in my life. Are things always perfect no, no ones life is perfect all the money in the world cant make everything perfect in life. Gods will and plan will always be done, we can only step back and let him lead us in our journeys. Realize what we have in our lives and hold on and cherish it because in a blink it could all be taken away.
I think this step back truly is how to learn to love more deeply and care for life in more passionate way. God can give and God can take away. If we dont appreciate what he has given us why would he do more or even let us hang on to what we have. We have to learn to pray and thank Jesus everyday for the good he had done in our lives and if we feel we are heading in a direction in life we really dont want ask him to step in change our path and show his love.
Jesus will always be for us never against so when you read this stop take a moment to talk with our God thank him for what you have and ask him to always guide your lives and for us to always be grateful for what we have. Also remember to Love, Lead, and Lift our lives to honor God.
Genesis 45:24 Deeply ingrained attitudes and habits are hard to get rid of, it all takes time.
Life, we all live one, if you are breathing and moving you are living a life. All of our lives are different, different paths and choices to take or make. These paths and choices lead to new habits and attitudes, some good some bad. God has given us these paths through free will. Free will is the option to choose the things we do in this life we are given. With this free will habits will form and habits are hard to break. It is our routine to get us through everyday life. When we change that routine it can seem our entire day is thrown off. But some habits need to be changed and as humans we know that we have habits that may not be the best choice for us. So how do we change those habits that maybe so ingrained into our dna.
Its starts with the will or the thought of wanting to change. Then taking the little steps day in and day out to form a new habit free of the old habit that we want to change. Its unfortunately not easy but possible, with a focus on what we want and the grace of Jesus anything in this life is possible. It is said in the bible if we have the faith we can tell the mountains to throw themselves in the sea and it will be done. If we keep the mindset that God is always for us never against us and keep the faith that we will change, it will be done no questions asked. If we doubt that faith and ourselves that change can slowly start to slip away and we fall prey back into the old habits that have its cold dead hands on our throats.
Little steps toward are big goals and the faith in our lord and Savior will blossom and grow our lives to change and form these deeply ingrained habits. Don’t live dead, live each day with the focus and purpose that we are going to be who we want in this life. Walk that crooked path but know we are never walking it alone we take each step with Jesus and he will never leave us abandoned in that dark place. Lead your life that honors God and change those little habits that hold us from our full potential.
Sometimes we reach for the highest stars, lift the heaviest weights try to acheive the unchevable. While there is nothing wrong with this type of go getting attitude, there is something to be said in achieving the small things. Maybe just maybe it might be our ultimate meal ticket in the end. So what am I talking about power in the small things. Lets say you are wanting to start lifting weights, we all know lift heavy things”me get big and stong”. Well yeah if you luck out and not rip, tear, strain your way to a one way trip to an er and ultimately hender your will to ever want to lift again. Start small stick to basic lift move that focous on major muscle group, build your way into those heavy weights your body will thank you later. Lasting muscle will not come over night it is a process that can take years but at the point you hit the body transformation you dreamed of in the beginning it will mean all that much more.
The same could be said in your marrage its the power of the small things. I have been married now for 12 years and can say that in all that time it really is the small things that seem to have made the biggest impact to my wife. So whats a small thing in marrage,well one small example I try and do on a daily basis is write my wife a little note. We have a white board on our fridge that was hardly ever used, I just simply say I love you or I was thinking of you, cant wait to get home to you,you get the point. Sometimes I will shoot a little text home out of the blue just saying thinking of you. Another example is maybe once a month I will swing by our local Krogers and get her a few flowers nothing to expensive im on a tight(broke) budet by the way, just enough to say hey was thinking of you.
The power of the small things may seem trivial. But trust me, it just might be those little things that make the biggest differences(and maybe some brownie points). Until next time God bless!
